Athletics Day

2 Weeks ago it was a very sunny day and we had athletics the first sport we done was shot put.  There were two lines one practice line and one real line it was so hard to come first because the balls were so heavy.  But i came third  Aj came second and   Jacob came first.Some people were in the practice line and the made it to the real line because the nearly past the third line that was on the grass.it was very hard to come third because the

balls were very heavy that we can not throw it past the fouth line.

Then we tryed the lighter ball it was so eazy that we can past the fouth line.because the balls was 2kgs when i lifted it it felt so light to throw i neraly got disqualified because my My foot nearly went over the white line if it went over it will be a no throw.then i went to the back of the line and had another turn.with a slightly heavyer ball  i through the heavyer ball it nearly went over the fouth line.Some of my friends were happy because the ball nearly went over the fouth line.

The next rotation was tug of war. we had to get in our house colours my house colour was blue our fisrt match was with yellow and we won.then we played green we beat them to.Then we went to the finals with red it was a very tight game because they were pretty hard but their hands were burning our hands were burning to but we never gave up and we still played and won.  Becauase we had some pretty strong people.

Then we went to the high jump the high jump was pretty hard. The first jump I made it the second one I went semis. Then the third one I went finals with one player we I nearly failed but tried my best to make it. Then the first boy went and he made it the I went ind i made it and I came second. It was so hard because it was to high for me to jump i am a champion and champions never give up.

Last Wednesday our whole school went to Sylvia Park to watch our manaiakalani movies.   The presenters had to come to school early because they had  to go Sylvia Park early so they could practice.  Then when the whole school got there I was so nervous because I was a presenter.  The presenters had to sit in the front row where all the other presenters were.  But some people had to present twice and me and Marika was one of those people who had to present twice.

The second time we presented was in front of three other schools and those schools were Tamaki Primary, Stone Field and Glenbrae.  We felt so shy but watching other schools manaiakalani movies was so amazing. When it played our class movie I felt so embarrassed  because I was acting in our class movie. People came up to me and said how awesome I was, it made me feel happy.

When the Manaiakalani Film Festival finished I walked out proud of myself we went back to school with the seniors. Because the rest of the presenters were presenting three times and we had no one  to go back to school with.  When we got to school heaps of people were asking us how did we go.  We felt so happy to be back at school with all of our friends.

Rugby Player Tanielu

This day is a big day for Tanielu he is getting ready for the college rugby finals against Sacred Heart college. When he wakes up  he gose for a shower and has his weetbix for breakfast. Tanielu  was in a rush because he will be late and miss his bus to school because that where they have to meet to catch another bus to Eden park.

He made it to the park and just after that he rushed to put his gear on.Tanielu was the first five for his team that is number ten.Tanielu and his team done a preyer Tanielu felt so Nervous that they might lose When he got on the field Tanielu made the kickoff and off the game went.On the last 10 seconds Tanielu scored the wining try because the ponints were a draw.

Tanielu felt very happy when he scored that final try then they went to auckland champs and they won all of their games. When Tanielu got to the changing room all of Tanielus mates congragulated him. because he scored the wining try he was so exited. Then when he went home he told his younger siblings.

One day in a laboratory their was a svintist named Mr strechy hands he had to make an ointment to make his and smaller. But he made an ointment that made his hands more strechy and longer.He put water,seeds,rubber bands,and Oil and Mixed it together and something went wrong the thing that was bad is that his legs went strechy just like his arms.

Mr strechy hands had to do all of his work and his ointment in some test tubes in his laboratory.He tried allday to make an ointment that had to mke his legs and arms not strechy. Then his father made an ointment that finaly made his legs and arms not strechy.

After his legs were not strech he “shouted yah my legs are not strechy any more. Mr strechy hands said and him and his father wanted to go and see Mr strechy hands mother.

Zac was a  boy and he was 16 and he lived with his father and his mother. They told Zac to go to the park with his friends and went to the park and suddenly. They walked into a teleporter and teleported into the middle of Paris.

His father was a scientist and made a big airplane and flew all the way to Australia where his father and mother was and he said to his mother “I will never go to the park mum, I will only go if I have an adult.”In Paris Zac felt petrifiedand sad.On his way home on the plane he felt so happy he was go to his mummy and daddy

Then Zac learnt to never go to the park without an adult all he will get teleported to another country. Were he does not know any one.

It was a clear and crisp night. Timmi  skipped joyfully through the park.  She noticed the birds twilight chirping.  What a magnificent time of day it was.

It was a a creepy and stormy night. Timmi was in the kitchen cooking some dinner she took her first spoon.  Then she heard something banging in the room then she went and she saw a big tombstone.Then the voice said’’I GOT YOU WHERE I WANT YOU NOW I AM GOING TO MUNCH YOU UP.  Timmi  knew she had to check who it was.

Then a ghost popped up then Timmi ran for her  life.Then she stayed withe her mum.

Lets Go Eels

On Wednesday  morning we went down to the creek and we saw heaps of trash and  Dirty water.Then Robin Kermode came to the tusitala  we were the first class that learned how to say hello in other greetings.After that we played a memory game with the cards the cards tougt us some sea anamals and tree names that robin had given to us then we played who am i.Who ever got the most cards wins that was so fun playing with Robin.Then after launchtime we don some acting  in the hall for an hour. Then after that we drawed pictures and at the end of acting we talked about what we learnt about eels.Robin came and shared her book with us because she wanted us to learn heaps about eels and keep them safe.So that they do not die i loved to play robins games and her acting.

My Writing

This year I've been working hard on my writing.  I got a duffy certificate for my writing, it made me feel so proud.

Usain Bolt

As Usain Bolt crosses the finish line he feels so proud of himself.  He came 1st and won the gold medal . Then he gets interviewed and he talked about how he was feeling.  He felt so emotional that he had won the gold medal for his country.

Athens 1896 - The First Olympic Games

The Olympics of  1896 in Athens in Greece had 14 countries taking part with most of the Athletes from Greece. This first modern Olympics was the lagest meeting of International competititors  that has ever occurred. The next Olympics held in Paris four years later was the first to allow women competitors. This time is the Olympics were part of a much bigger event and lasted several months.

Pierre de Coubertin

After a gap hundreds of years the Olympics returned to the Athens in Greece in 1896. The reason behind the reacreation of was because of one man Pierre de Coubertin.He admired the Greek ideals of fitness and sporting and competitiveness amongst different comunities and he hoped that the modern Olympics would bring countries closer together.

Ben Johnson

In 1988 at the Olympics  the 100 meter sprint was going down. The commentators said to watch the two  fastest people. Carl Lewis and Ben Johnson they lined up for the race.

Then they started the race and off they went Ben Johnson and Carl Lewis but Ben Johnson came first and set a new world record  

and the crowed went crazy.  

Then they caught Ben Johnson taking drugs.Then they did not allow Ben Johnson at the Olympics ever again.

Phedippides

With great joy the Greeks defeated the Persians at the battle of Marathon. Pheidippides was sent as a messenger to deliver the good news to the people of Athens.

Over rocky mountains Phidippides was running from Marathon to Athens to send a message to the Athens.   Philippidess never give up and he ran 42.2 kilometres. It was frustrating for Pheidippides to run the marathon because it was so cold and he had no water.

Arriving in Athens as Pheidippides shouted “joy, we won!” .  He then passed away because he had no water and no food.

The Olympic flame

The Ancient Greeks started the tradition of having an Olympic flame. In Olympia a sacred flame is lit by the sun's rays and stays alight until the games have ended. The flame symbolized a request for protection from Zeus and the athletes’ struggles for victory.

The modern flame symbolizes the light of the spirit, knowledge and life. To this day, the torch is still` lit in Olympia in Greece, then carried by a relay team, passing runner to runner, until it reaches the host-city of the games. There, the cauldron will be lit and stay alight until the closing ceremony.

Bubblegum crew

After morning tea the bubblegum dance crew came to perform at our school in the hall.  After they performed the bubblegum crew told us that they were going to Las Vegas.Then the whole school got a photo with The bubblegum crew it was breathtaking because the bubble gum crew's dance moves were awesome.

Ancient Olympics

The Olympics began over two and a half  thousand years ago in Ancient Greece. In thoses days Greece was made up of several different States including Athens, Sparta and Corinth and they were often at war with each other.But when the games were on they held a truce. This great event was held at a place called Olympia and that why the games are called the Olympics.  They were held once every four years the honour of Zeus god of all the lords. Eventually ancient Olympics were abolished by the roman Emperor Theodosius who was a christian and did not like the games because they were detected to a pagan good the Olympics were always remembered of a symbol of human achievement and peace.

In my garden my butterfly has reflective symmetry.

This means that  This means it has to have the. sames thing on the both sides.

In my garden my pathway shows tessellation.

To make my pathway I used shapes i tessellated  my triangle.
This means that It has to have no gaps in. between the shapes.

Te Tuhi

First thing in the morning we went off on an adventure to te tuhi. Climbing off the bus with pouring rain Walking into the Te Tuhi We see the steam came out of the machine that was in  front of the door.

Jeremy showed us the art center were we made our dream houses. First we cut the shapes out then  we made our dream houses out of shapes we tessellated our 10  shapes to make the dream houses. We used the shapes that were on the table.We made our dream houses on blue paper.

Then he took us to watch a little movie  in the dark room Also we went to the gallery room where we saw all the pictures on the wall it was very fun at Te Tuhi.

6 Thinking Hats

I learnt most about painting and my design.It was fun doing painting with miss king.

The best thing I enjoyed was vividering my work because it made my artwork look amazing.

What I found hard is when I did my paint I tried my hardest to paint inside the lines.

Next time I can do my art better by focusing and try my hardest and never giving up.

The most interesting thing. That I did was when I drew my dots for my stars.

Tamarereti

The scary Taniwha lived in a lake called  Lake Taupo. He goes after people that go to the lake Taupo at night time. It was big green Taniwha that has a red tongue.

Tamarereti went fishing in Lake Taupo he caught three large fish then he fell asleep he got up and he was at the other side when he got out he was hungry he lit a fire and cooked it.

Then he found little orange pebbles helps him to guide him home.

day when I walked onto the stage I felt so nervous, I had butterflies in my stomach. I wanted to run off the stage in front of thousands of our parents. But I did not want to let the whole team down.

I loved my costume because it is so funky that I did not even want to take it off. My costume was swag pants and a swag t-shirt  and my Jordan shoes. When I got into my clothes I felt cool.

Swimming Lessons

Under the very shiny water we kick and do the freestyle like an arrow until we get to the other side.  Diving into the pool i look at the bright blue tiles. I like swimming because it is fun to learn how to do the freestyle and the backstroke it is fun to have swimming lessons.

The Frog

Gripping onto the tree the slimy green frog outstretched his tongue towards  the small cricket. The frog caught the cricket and ate it for his lunch, the cricket was floating on a very big leaf.

Jumping off the cliff,  the boy  bombed it into the sea and hit the water. The water went up into the air like  a  fountain of spray and the boy laughed

The Flag

I think we should change the flag to a new flag so some countries do not think we are. Australia's.I like the flag  because of the silver fern and of the design. Also I like the flag because of the colours. It represents our nation

I think that we should change the flag because countries will call us Australia but we are not Australia we are New Zealand. The new flag emphasises our location in the South Pacific Ocean. It connects with the colours of the Union Jack and the current flag.

The blob

Nestled within the blue and yellow pillow eager children anticipated the ride. The countdown was on.Three,two,one. Terror  Mixed with excitement was written all over their faces as they were catapulted towards the sky. Spinning twirling and tumbling’ the children twisted their way through the .Air as they plummeted towards the water their faces grinned in delight .Splash. “Can I have another go please?”.

Roller Coaster

Feeling scared nervous and somewhat frightened I ran towards the screaming roller coaster. It is time.  Until today I had never been so scared for my life.

Closing my eyes i wished over and over again that the ride would soon end.  Would we make it out alive.  Roaring and soaring through the sky we tumbled and twisted.

On a plane  Zac and his mum were going on a trip to America and then Zac went to the bathroom, then the step mum threw Zac out of the plane.  Zac landed in a very  creepy spooky scary dark black forest he ran as fast as he could then suddenly Zac falls into a very deep hole the trees fall.  Zac tries to jump as high as he can to grab a branch and climb out but he falls back down his uncle and his dad come to save Zac. They tried running away but a witch trapped them she took them to a very spooky house she put them in a cage full of zombies also full of pig zombies to kill them all. Zac and his uncle and his dad tried to fight back but they were too strong they tried there best to kill the zombies they worked together and they killed them.They went to fight the witch then Zac saw a sword he ran towards it and sliced the witch. into little pieces then they lived happily ever after. Zac’s family was so happy to see him again
